The non-surgical tummy tuck is a good alternative to surgery for patients, especially because there is no anesthesia and post-operative procedure involved. However, all patients wanting to have a tummy tuck may not be able to have a non-surgical tummy tuck, if the procedure involves stubborn fat removal. Sometimes the non-surgical tummy tuck is used in combination with surgery or even after surgery for certain localized areas.

Techniques

The popular non-surgical tummy tuck techniques are injection lipolysis, ultrasonic lipolysis and titan and tri-active lasers.

Injections

The injection lipolysis is also called the lipodissolve. A chemical solution derived from lecithin is injected to various areas of fatty deposits. The common areas for such deposits are generally the neck, the abdomen, sides, back, arms and thighs. This solution has still not been approved by the FDA and is still at its experimental stage. Normally a patient receives 2 or 3 such treatments and up till now it has proved to be very effective.

Another kind of non-surgical tummy tuck called the ultrasonic lipolysis involves injections of sterile water combined with a powerful Ultrasonic massage. An anesthetic is also used in the treatment. Once the massage is repeated at least four times, the fat starts dissolving over a period of time. Sometimes the ultrasonic massages are used after injection lipolysis.

Another non-surgical tummy tuck technique is called Mesotherapy and is also a good alternative to plastic surgery. It reduces cellulite extremely fast and reshapes the fatty and flabby areas. This non-surgical tummy tuck treatment has been prevalent in Europe for a long time, and has recently been introduced in the United States.

Use of Laser

The titan and tri-active lasers are the non-surgical tummy tuck lasers performed in clinics and spas. They are basically effective, because they tighten the skin. The lasers actually heat the collagen fibers and shorten them.

One of the laser techniques for a non-surgical tummy tuck is called a SmartLipo and through laser lipolysis the unwanted body fat can be removed. This technique is specially designed for spot fat reduction. This procedure also requires less downtime than the traditional liposuction techniques. Smaller instruments are used and a specialized technique too to kill the fat cells for contouring parts of the body like the abdomen.

Last but not least is the Medical Weight Loss program, which may also fall under the category of the non-surgical tummy tuck. If weight loss is done under the supervision of a physician, a permanent weight loss can be achieved. The fat in the abdomen can also be brought under control, though it would involve a longer period of time.

Any of the techniques can be used for the patients as non-surgical tummy tuck techniques. But basically each patient has a different constitution, and to achieve the best results, the technique should be tailored to the needs of each patient. Hence one patient may need a combination of the injections with the massage, whereas another one may use them in combination with the lasers.

You’ve just graduated high school and you plan on going to a state college. You want to make a good impression and you’ve lost a lot of weight before you started your first classes. Now, however, you have a lot of loose hanging skin. You may even have stretch marks. What are you going to do if you make friends at the state college and those friends want to go to the beach or something? Could you ever wear a bathing suit? What if you want to join the swim team? The answer lies in a cosmetic surgery called a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck before state college just might be the way to go. It can relieve you of all that loose skin and those stretch marks and it can make you feel much better about yourself.

Not A Minor Surgery

You should be aware that if you are going to get a tummy tuck before state college, that it’s not a minor surgery. It is, in fact, a major surgery. The surgeon will get rid of all that loose skin and your stretch marks and will strengthen the abdominal walls. It is not a weight loss surgery, as many believe it to be. Rather, it is a surgery that is performed after you’ve lost a lot of weight and you now have a lot of excess skin. Many insurance companies will not cover tummy tucks before state college because they are not necessary for health so you should also be prepared to incur a heavy cost.

How Much Does It Cost?

A tummy tuck before state college can cost anywhere from five to ten thousand dollars. That may not include extras such as hospital stays and things like that. If you are already paying for classes at the state college, you may want to consider taking out a loan or using some of your student loan money on your tummy tuck before state college if it’s that important to you.

Increased Self Esteem

While a tummy tuck before state college is not a necessity for health, it can drastically improve your self esteem. An increased self esteem is very important when you’re going away to college for the first time. This is the beginning of your adult life and you should enjoy your college experience. Therefore, if you need it, by all means, have the tummy tuck before state college and start your college career off with your head held high.

It’s unfortunate that unsightly stretch marks are a fact of life for many people. Women often get them after pregnancy and men can get them too after a large weight gain. One of the ways you can combat stretch marks is with a mini tummy tuck. A tummy tuck is usually performed to get rid of loose skin and stretch marks after a large weight loss, but if you just need a little bit done, such as would be the case with getting rid of stretch marks, a mini tummy tuck should suffice. First, you have to find a surgeon who performs mini tummy tucks, then you have to decide how you’re going to pay for the procedure. A tummy tuck, even a mini one, is not a minor surgery so there will be some recovery time. It will, however, boost your self esteem and it will make you feel great about your body again.

Referrals

When looking for a surgeon to perform a mini tummy tuck for your stretch marks, try to find friends or family who have had one performed. If they have, they may be able to suggest a surgeon to perform the surgery for you. There are many surgeons who perform mini tummy tucks but you want to find one who is well respected and well referred. When someone has had a good experience with a cosmetic surgeon, they will likely tell everyone they know. That’s the type of plastic surgeon you want to perform your mini tummy tuck.

Can You Afford It?

Once you’ve found a cosmetic surgeon to perform your mini tummy tuck, you’ll want to discuss price. You should never sacrifice the quality of your surgeon for price, however. When it comes to cosmetic surgery, you truly do get what you pay for. A regular tummy tuck typically costs anywhere from five to nine or ten thousand dollars. A mini tummy tuck may cost a little less but you’ll want to discuss this with the cosmetic surgeon you choose so that you know whether or not you can pay for it.

There are many cosmetic surgeons out there who will be willing to perform your mini tummy tuck. Choose a cosmetic surgeon that you feel completely comfortable with, however. You may be so excited to have the surgery performed, so that you can feel happy about your body again, that you’ll choose the first surgeon you meet. Be a little choosy, however, as this is one decision you don’t want to take lightly.

For men and women, both a tummy tuck seems to be a viable way to loose inches off of the waistline that diet and exercise may not have helped with. A tummy tuck is a cosmetic procedure that is designed to reduce the fat in the belly area and make the waist slimmer.

There are many different plastic surgeons that perform this type of procedure. Make sure to interview doctors and find out about their background and experience. Whenever contemplating surgery, make sure to be informed about the surgeon and what type of experience they have. Some plastic surgeons have taken the steps to become board certified and this means they have additional years of residency and taken an oral as well as a written exam. This type of experience can be beneficial to a surgeon and many patients feel more comfortable with a surgeon that is board certified.

A tummy tuck procedure is performed by making a rather long incision across the abdomen. Then the surgeon removes fat and repairs damage to the abdominal muscles. These muscles may have been damaged due to pregnancies or even as we age. The muscles are strengthened and then any excess skin is removed. The incision is closed with either staples or stitches.

This type of procedure has a high success rate and the long term results of a tummy tuck can be very good.

Looking At The Long Term Results Of A Tummy Tuck

When looking at the long term results of a tummy tuck, most patients will discover that after the initial swelling has gone down, they are extremely pleased with their appearance. The long term results of a tummy tuck, have been for most patients just what they hoped for and expected.

The long term results of a tummy tuck means that a patient will have a flatter and firmer stomach than what they had previously. This is the result that most patients are wanting and looking for.

Of course for some, the long term results of a tummy tuck don’t live up to their expectation. If a patient gains a lot of weight or becomes pregnant, the stomach muscles will once again be stretched and the long term results of a tummy tuck won’t be good.

By eating a well balanced diet and continuing to exercise patients will see that the long term results of a tummy tuck are very good and what they want.

If you have made the decision to have a tummy tuck, you probably have a million questions. Some of the most major questions are about recovery from a tummy tuck: how long will it take? How much pain will there be? When can you return to normal activities?

What Happens During Surgery

Tummy tucks are a major cosmetic procedure. In this surgery, you will be under general anesthesia. An incision is made from one hipbone to the other. The abdominal muscles and skin are pulled down and tightened, and the navel is cut out and repositioned higher up so that it looks more natural on the newly tightened skin.

Extra skin is then removed. Liposuction may be performed at the same time to remove additional fat deposits and help to contour the abdominal and waist area. By the time the incision is sewn back up, you may have lost several pounds’ worth of fat and extra skin.

What Happens After the Surgery

Since this procedure is so complex and involves the entire abdominal area, recovery from tummy tuck surgery can take a few weeks. If you live in the local area, you will probably be sent home that day along with someone who can look after you for the first few days. You may be instructed to wear a binding garment (like an elastic girdle) for a week or two in order to reduce swelling and give support to the healing incision site.

You will most likely be sent home a prescription for pain medication for your recovery from tummy tuck surgery. While the pain that you’ll experience is not extraordinary, you will probably feel discomfort for the first week or two following the surgery. The first few days after your surgery are best spent resting to allow your body to start the recovery and healing process.

You will probably be instructed not to lift anything heavy for four weeks, but following recovery from tummy tuck surgery you may be able to return to work within two or three weeks. Provided that you avoid heavy lifting and any other potentially dangerous situations, you should be able to resume your normal daily activities after about two weeks.

Your cosmetic surgeon will provide you with instructions for your specific situation. Recovery from tummy tuck surgery can vary between patients, so always be sure to follow the instructions that your doctor gives you.

There are several factors which depend on the cost of tummy tuck liposuction like the surgeon, the state where you live and the procedure. The prices can also depend on the number of procedures that you require, the equipment that is involved in the various procedures, your gender and of course the surgeon’s ability.

Surgeon

The cost of tummy tuck liposuction varies from one surgeon to the other, according to his experience, the facilities that he provides and there can be a price difference according to regional differences as well. Various tests that you have to undergo like lab tests, blood tests or the usage of compression garments add to the price of the surgery as well.

Procedures

The first procedure is the most expensive, because it involves anesthesia. Once this is done, it is relatively cheaper and easier for the doctors to perform successive surgeries. But the cost of tummy tuck liposuction and the whole procedure depends on the amount of fat that has to be removed and the equipment used for it.

Extraction of more fat, as for overweight people, means additional time spent on the surgery and this increases the cost of tummy tuck liposuction. It is generally easier to perform a tummy tuck than other sensitive areas in the body, because the tummy fat content is generally higher. Generally male liposuction costs significantly more than female liposuction, because males have more fibrous fat than females.

The use of new equipment definitely increases the cost of tummy tuck liposuction. Any procedure that is carried out with laser equipment or ultrasound will be priced higher. The investment of high-tech equipment for a doctor or a clinic is generally borne to some extent by the customers.

Rough Calculation

The initial testing fees for any customer are generally below a thousand dollars. The cost of a regular liposuction procedure is around five hundred dollars which would include blood tests, compression garments and prescriptions. As an outpatient procedure, there are no hospital fees and anesthetist’s fees. The cost of tummy tuck liposuction surgery would then be about two thousand dollars for women and another thousand dollars extra for men.

Additional surgeries cost considerably less, as it is done soon after the first one. Sometimes there could be a number of incidental charges in addition to the surgery, but you should first ask for a complete price before opting for the liposuction surgery.

Of course the cost of Tummy Tuck Liposuction is an important factor, but the quality of liposuction is more important than the cost. The expertise of the surgeon and his experience is of great value. You should consider the price but not at the expense of your body and your happiness.

You’ve changed your life and you’ve lost all of that weight you’ve wanted to lose. Your skin has lost its elasticity, however, and now you’re left with a lot of loose hanging skin and possibly some stretch marks. This can make going to the beach or even getting dressed in the mirror almost unbearable. All of that excess skin is very unsightly and you’d like to do something about it. If you live in Connecticut, you’ll be happy to know that there are many cosmetic surgeons who are very skilled in performing tummy tucks for just this sort of problem. A Connecticut tummy tuck can be performed for under ten thousand dollars and in just a few weeks, you’ll be able to put on a bathing suit without feeling so self conscious. Just make sure you’re very choosy when selecting your Connecticut tummy tuck surgeon as this isn’t a decision you should make on the fly.

How To Choose A Surgeon

Open your local yellow pages and you’ll likely be faced with pages and pages of Connecticut tummy tuck surgeons. Some of them will have small listings with just their names and phone numbers while others will have entire page ads. How can you discern between them all? How do you know which Connecticut tummy tuck surgeon will perform the surgery correctly and leave you with the abdomen you’ve always wanted? Well, you should make a list of the criteria you’re looking for. You may want to find ones that are in your area, or, and this may be the best way, you may want to look them up on the internet to see if anyone has written any online reviews about them.

Online Reviews

Online reviews are one of the best ways to find a Connecticut tummy tuck surgeon. When someone has a bad experience, they likely can’t wait to tell everyone they know. They especially can’t wait to tell everyone on the internet. Bad news travels faster than good news so you should be able to cross a few Connecticut tummy tuck surgeons off your list by looking at these online reviews. If you see a lot of good reviews for a particular surgeon, however, then you may want to make an appointment.

Make An Appointment

You never want to make an appointment and just stick with that Connecticut tummy tuck surgeon out of laziness. Make a few appointments and visit them all. Judge the surgeons on their professionalism, the looks of their offices, and the before and after photos they’re able to show you from previous patients. This is the best way to choose the best Connecticut tummy tuck surgeon so that you can finally feel good about your body.

Deciding to have plastic surgery of any kind is a big step. Many people feel that they have a certain physical feature that just doesn’t appear the way that they would like it too, so they consider plastic surgery. For some, it is about flattening their stomach and for those that live in Pennsylvania, tummy tuck surgery involves finding the right surgeon.

Pennsylvania Tummy Tuck Surgery: How To Find A Surgeon

When looking at Pennsylvania tummy tuck surgery, it is first important to find the right surgeon. A good first step when looking at Pennsylvania tummy tuck surgery is by talking with friends that may have had procedures done, or who know someone that has had some work done.

Another resource to finding the right Pennsylvania tummy tuck surgery surgeon is by speaking with your own physician. Ask if your physician has recommended patients to a particular surgeon and what type of comments those patients had in regards to the surgeon and their results.

Another way of finding a Pennsylvania tummy tuck surgery surgeon is by checking with the American Plastic Surgeons association. This group has a web site that lists state by state surgeons that are board certified to be plastic surgeons. They have had extensive training in plastic surgery and are members of the American Plastic Surgeons association.

Surgeons that are board certified has graduated medical school from an accredited college and then have gone on to have an additional five years of residency, three of those are generally in surgery. They also need to pass an exam that is written and orally given. They also have to have two years experience in working in the field of plastic surgery. This certificate is good for ten years and then the surgeon needs to re-apply for continued status.

A tummy tuck may seem like a simple procedure, but it is extensive surgery and should be viewed as such. During a tummy tuck a patient is put under and the surgery itself involves making a large incision across the abdomen. The fat is then removed and excess skin is also removed. The procedure does take several weeks to recover from and patients need to keep this in mind when contemplating this surgery.

It is important to find the right surgeon to perform a tummy tuck, and by taking the time to verify plastic surgeons credentials, a consumer can be sure to be working with someone who has experience with this type of procedure.

What is the recovery time for a tummy tuck? A tummy tuck, also called abdominoplasty, is on of the most popular elective surgeries available today. Patients who get tummy tucks are people who are concerned about sagging skin around their abdomen. Sometimes they are people who have lost a great deal of weight, and their stomach skin stretched out and sags. Other times tummy tuck patients are busy moms who want to regain their flat stomachs after they finish having their babies.

Whatever their circumstances, the burning question on every tummy tuck patient’s mind is, “What is the recovery time for a tummy tuck?”

Major Surgery

What is the recovery time for major surgery? A tummy tuck, after all, is major surgery. There is no hard and fast answer that applies to every patient when it comes to how long recovery will take. Still, the recovery time for a tummy tuck is what patients want to know.

Some of the factors that affect recovery time are the extent of the procedure. Some surgeons do a mini tuck procedure that has a shorter recovery time. In other cases, surgery can take up to five hours and can involve extensive cutting and tightening of skin and tissue.

Another factor is the fitness level of the patient. A healthy, fit patient with normal blood pressure and cholesterol levels – someone who exercises regularly and stays in shape – is likely to recover more quickly than a sedentary patient with a low level of physical fitness.

Some very fit people return to work one to two weeks after their tummy tuck. Others require three to four weeks of rest before they are ready to resume their normal activities of daily living.

During the recovery period, patients will notice a great deal of swelling in the area where the surgery occurred, as irritated tissues leak fluid. Patients should be sure to follow their physician’s instructions about taking care of their surgical wounds. The swelling will go down eventually as the fluid is reabsorbed into the body. Some surgeons will insert drain tubes in the tissue if necessary to encourage the flow of fluid from the body.

The tummy tuck scar will continue to change for quite a long time after surgery. Folds in the tissue will flatten over time. The scars will be very red right after surgery, but over time they will fade and grow closer to the normal color of the skin.

Next time someone asks, What is the recovery time for a tummy tuck, anyway?, you’ll know the answer.

Just as the name ‘partial tummy tuck’ suggests, this procedure is a less extensive operation than a complete tummy tuck or abdominoplasty. The risks involved are fewer, the incision scars are smaller and the recovery time is much shorter. The Partial Tummy Tuck is also known as a mini abdominoplasty and the patient just needs a local anesthesia. The duration of such an operation is maximum two hours.

Method

The operation for the Partial Tummy Tuck can vary significantly according to the condition of the lower abdomen. The job of the plastic surgeon is to remove an ellipse of skin from the lower abdomen and then tighten the abdomen muscles underneath it. That is why many surgeons prefer to combine this procedure with liposuction of the abdomen. But the whole procedure takes very little time and the patient can be discharged sometimes within an hour after surgery. For temporary protection the patient may have to wear an abdominal binder.

Who can qualify for it?

Often a Partial Tummy Tuck is recommended for a patient who is within 10% of her ideal body weight. But besides a doctor’s recommendation, the desired outcome of the patient is equally important. Also the patient’s physical appearance should be considered, and accordingly the decision for a Partial Tummy Tuck or a complete one is taken.

The Partial Tummy Tuck may also not be ideal for larger people. This procedure is for the person who has a little excess skin in the lower abdomen. Finally you have put your trust in your surgeon and go with his decision.

Results

The results of a Partial Tummy Tuck are not as good as a tummy tuck, because the abdominal muscle tightening and the loosening of the skin are not dramatic. In order to improve waistline and body contouring the Partial Tummy Tuck is done in combination with other surgeries like liposuction or abdominal lipoplasty.

Restrictions and Risks

For the Partial Tummy Tuck, the excess skin and fat for tightening the abdominal muscles is restricted to the body area below the navel. Since the incision is very small, the navel cannot be moved. Although, when the skin is tightened and stitched it may be pulled into a slightly unnatural position. The risk of a Partial Tummy Tuck is significantly lower than the tummy tuck, as the whole procedure is simpler and shorter.

There are risks and complications associated with any type of cosmetic surgery. There could be anesthesia complications, bleeding or an infection. Since the Partial Tummy Tuck is a smaller and shorter surgery than the tummy tuck, it is better to go in for the smaller version, then the risks are smaller too.
